I want to make sure that no matter what sport the class learns about they get out and stay active.

March: Sports Month
The month of March is fast approaching, just to keep you posted, like I said we will focus this month on sports. Since March has four weeks in it we will talk about four different sports. Two of the sports will be individually played sports and the other two will be on team sports. The first week we will talk about a team sport. We will learn all about soccer, we will learn how it is played and I will turn the lessons for each subject that week into some aspect of soccer. The second week we will learn about an individual sport, it will be golf. We will learn about miniature and regular golf. The third we will go back to a team sport: baseball/softball. We will learn about different teams and in math we will learn how to average statistics for baseball players. The last week in March we will learn about tennis, it is mainly looked at as an individual sport but we will also talk about how it is played with using pairs. The last two days in March (since there is a few extra days) we will talk about any sport the class chooses from.

I really like how you explained each week with what they are going to do! Being active is always important with children! Like i said in the last blog! You have very great ideas!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have a very clear sense of direction for your lessons, and this is abundantly apparent with your integration of statistics into your class when discussing baseball/softball.
ReplyDeleteThe month of March sounds like a lot of fun. I think that it is great that you are getting the children active and teaching them about some really good sports. Have fun.
